Counting Down

Just visited the gynae again yesterday. The twins are still doing well & so is the wife -- no hypertension, no diabetes. However she is getting more breathless & the boys are getting more restless -- you should see them move!! You can literally see movements across her stretched belly (remember the scene from Aliens?) when the boys are awake. It is also getting more painful for her as they grow bigger.

For now, the planned Caesarean date is 18th Sept 2005. Hopefully, the boys are not too impatient to see the world :). Now, we just hope that her cervix will be able to hold the weight & keep the boys in until the planned date. Otherwise, if the boys are born now it is likely that they would need to be put on a respirator & stay in the ICU :(. And should this happen, more complications could set in -- infection from the insertion of tubes, higher likelihood of jaundice, etc. Not to mention the higher cost involved :(.

Now that the date has been set, it seems so much nearer & closer. It's like... another 2.5 weeks more!! :O Time to get meself a good book to keep me company in the hospital :).

Home Rest

The wife finally stopped work at the end of July 2005 & will be resting at home till the boys are delivered. I am actually amazed that she can still walk around, considering the fact that she has put on about 20kg by now!! And... she is running out of clothes to wear too.
